Running Aces Casino & Racetrack Minnesota Announce Covid-19 Re-opening Plans

Running Aces Casino & Racetrack situated in Columbus Minnesota has announced that it is to re-open on the 1st June 2020 amid a long closure period and business downturn due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, there are a few exceptions at the property, such as a phased soft re-opening and the gaming and dining areas are to remain closed until it is safe to re-open at the permission of the Governor.

The property houses a hotel, a racetrack for harness horse racing and a casino. The hotel will be the first to re-open its doors to the public under altered measures, followed by the race track in time for the racing season, which starts on the 20th June 2020 and the last to re-open will be the establishments casino.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the management staff have implemented a series of measures to help provide assurance to the public and keep them safe from the virus. These measures include: sanitisation wipes provided to each guest, papers removed from hotel rooms, thorough cleaning of rooms upon checkout and a cooling off period of up to 48 hours before the next guest can check-in, reduced housekeeping for long stays to minimise contact and breakfast bags provided to guests in advance.

When horse racing commences, there will be no spectators present at the races until state guidelines permit. However, local residents will still be able to place bets on events at the racetrack.

Upon re-opening of Running Aces Casino, players can expect to adhere to measures on the casino floor that will help prevent the spread of the disease to customers and staff. These casino floor measures include: regulated admission, mandatory face masks, temperature checks, social distancing casino table games, transparent shields separating players and dealers and thorough cleaning of gaming chips.

Running Aces Casino is one of the first casinos to announce its re-opening plans in the region and the cleaning and health and safety measures are something that US citizens in other regions, towns and states can expect for the foreseeable future.
