The luxury casino resort situated on the famous gaming strip of Metro Manila in the Philippines; City of Dreams Manila, has announced that it is to re-open under soft opening measures amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
City of Dreams Manila is owned by Melco Resorts and has been shuttered for a number of weeks due to the Coronavirus crisis.
However, the firm has stated that it has been working behind the scenes to implement a series of measures that will help protect employees and customers from the virus, including testing staff forCovid-19, making safety adjustments to its casino floors, restricting numbers at gaming tables and housing employees onsite.
At present, the re-opening date has not yet been set as the company is waiting for the go ahead from the Philippines government.
But as far as the measures are concerned, the luxury resort has everything in place as soon as they receive approval for the soft re-opening.
One of the major changes that the resort management and executives have made is to provide free testing for staff and facilities so that they can remain onsite or nearby, with shuttle bus services running regularly to and from their place of work.
Kevin Benning of City of Dreams Manila commented on the announcement:
“The wellbeing of our colleagues is our paramount concern, more so in these fragile times. We have been consulting with PAGCOR, the Department of Health and the Parañaque Health Office to fully comply with health standards and government guidelines, even going beyond the basic requirements whenever possible to ensure a safe environment for the health and well-being of City of Dreams Manila’s guests and colleagues”
Among the list of Covid-19 measures implemented at the resort are: sanitation facilities, thermal screening, mandatory face masks for employees and customers and free hand sanitizer located at all entrances.
In addition, restaurants located within the resort, next to the casino properties, will only be operating at half capacity with numbers capped to allow for proper social distancing during dining.
City of Dreams Manila currently offers a number of casino games on its casino floors, including: baccarat, Caribbean stud, roulette, money wheel, pontoon, sic-bo, lunar poker, blackjack and craps.
