On World Environment Day Microgaming Celebrates International Organization for Standardization

UK – Today on the Isle of Man, UK, iGaming developer and one of the world’s leading software companies Microgaming is celebrating the completion of its International Organization for Standardization 14001 audit (ISO 14001).

International Organization for Standardization 14001 is the industry standard framework that helps companies such as Microgaming to implement an environmental management system.

An environmental management system includes an array of criteria for businesses to follow, which is made up of a number of processes and procedures for staff training, monitoring and reporting of information related to its environmental performance. This information is then presented to stakeholders of Microgaming.

The primary objectives of the ISO 14001 that is primarily based on the EMS standard include waste reduction, whereby the company goes above and beyond reducing its environmental impact, and compliance, where the firm reaches and maintains a minimum legal standard.

The certification marks a significant milestone in Microgaming’s history of operation and comes after the firm launched its own environmental protection policy to reduce the impact on the environment from its business activities.

In addition, the timing of the certification comes exactly on the date of World Environment Day 2020, which is celebrated on the 5th of June every year, established by the United Nations to encourage awareness and action against activities and issues that have a negative impact on the environment.

Furthermore, the certification reiterates Microgaming’s own ‘ long-term commitment to improving its environmental impact’.

In addition, Microgaming has invested in electric bikes and annual public bus passes to support a greener commute for staff, the implementation of a new waste management solution, including smart bins to help calculate carbon footprint and ecological initiatives, the replacement of takeaway and lunch containers with more sustainable alternatives, and the continuous monitoring of energy consumption.’
