The result of the EPL’s latest match between Chelsea and Man City, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Chelsea, was the final nail in the coffin for City’s season as Liverpool FC were crowned champions.
Liverpool FC finally ended the thirty year wait to win a top flight league title, which some deemed inevitable due to the points difference before the Covid-19 lockdown suspension.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager for the past 4 years said:
“As long as we stay humble and we’re still ready to write stories we want to tell our grandchildren, everything is possible for us. Without knowing it at the time, the most important thing I said to the players was that we have to create our own stories and own history.”
“At this moment in time, in the biggest crisis our generation has probably ever had, it’s so important that we don’t forget that there is something we can really look forward to… Winning all the time, that’s really difficult because the other teams are too good for that. They have a good chance to improve of course as well – we have to be better, they have to, we will, they will and then we will see who is best.”
However, the majority of online sportsbooks and leading bookmakers in the UK and Europe, are believing that Manchester City will have the best chance of winning next season’s title for the 2020/2021 season.
Granted, Manchester City are only slight favourites at 5/4 ahead of Liverpool at 7/4, but it is enough for punters to already place their bets at some bookmakers for next year’s champions, believing they will bounce back after a relatively poor season.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs are 3rd, 4th and 5th favourite respectively to challenge and win for next season’s trophy.
