It has been announced today that lottery provider and one of the only companies in the United States to provide secure state lottery purchases Jackpocket has linked up with cashless casino payment provider Sightline.
The partnership involves Sightline’s Play+ service that integrates seamlessly with Jackpocket’s mobile offering to customers.
Purchasing lottery tickets has a traditional history of being a cash industry, but this latest deal between the two firms means that transactions are now going cashless and using modern electronic payment methods to enter lottery draws in the US.
Peter Sullivan of Jackpocket commented on the partnership:
“The Jackpocket app broadens access to the lottery, which helps state lotteries drive incremental revenue benefiting critical state programs. We’re proud to partner with Play+, a platform used by some of the biggest names in the gaming industry, and forward Jackpocket’s mission to make the lottery more accessible and convenient to play.”
As part of the agreement, Sightline will integrate its Play+ product to Jackpocket’s mobile app so that users have extended options of funding their account and placing orders for tickets on popular lottery draws including Mega Millions and Powerball.
In addition, Play+ provides easier and more convenient access to winnings from lottery draws and greater freedom to spend at retailers where the Discover card is accepted, including ATM cash withdrawals around the world.
Marc Falcone of Sightline concluded with details of the deal and what it means for both firms:
“In these unprecedented times, the demand for more cashless transactions by consumers is rapidly accelerating. Play+ offers players a seamless and safe way to play the lottery from their phone on the Jackpocket app.”
The move comes following a transition in a number of industries, such as gaming and hospitality, to cashless payments due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
