It has been reported that SciPlay, a leading provider of casino social games online and on mobile, has made a donation to the tune of $82,000 to a humanitarian aid organisation Direct Relief, which is active in the United States and over 80 different countries worldwide.
The funds have been raised through Sciplay’s dynamic in-app events in order to provide personal protective equipment to medical teams during the Coronavirus crisis.
Sciplay launched the in-app events within the majority of its core games, which it intended to levarage its user base of almost 8 million gamers each month.
Top games from Sciplay include: Jackpot Party Casino, Gold Fish Casino Slots, Quick Hit Slots, Hot Shot Casino, 88 Fortunes Slots and Monopoly Slots.
SciPlay, a break-away division of Scientific Games, creates engaging social bingo and social casino games, whilst providing an authentic gaming experience to players by following the physical versions of its portfolio. Social casino games create an online version of well-known casino slot machines by brands like WMS, Bally, Barcrest, and SHFL.
Josh Wilson of SciPlay commented on the donation:
“Our games serve as a creative reprieve to millions of users around the world. I can’t think of a better way for our gaming family to give back to the world’s essential workers. I’m so proud of both our incredible users and the SciPlay team for working together to raise and donate critical funds to Direct Relief.”
As part of the incentive, players were rewarded for their achievements during gameplay, whereby donations were accrued for Direct Relief. Therefore, the more completed game objective, the more cash raised.
Direct Relief is a registered charity set up to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.
