The multi-year deal between the two firms will see an exchange of two of the industry’s most popular game titles: Starburst and Slingo.
Gaming Realms will work with NetEnt to develop and license a new innovative game that is a combination of Starburst on the Slingo mechanic with classic features incorporated.
Mark Segal of Gaming Realms commented on the new game:
“We’re thrilled to have secured the licensing rights to the Starburst brand, a legendary slot that has dominated the gaming industry for years.
We’re confident that fans of Slingo and Starburst will enjoy our new collaboration, which will bring together the best features of both brands.”
The new game is expected to land some time next year and will come under the name of Slingo Starburst, with many casino operators already hot on the heels for collaboration in what is sure to be an instant hit with players.
By securing the licensing rights to the Starburst hit video slot, Gaming Realms can bring together the best of both worlds so that players can enjoy a renewed buzz experienced upon the release of the first title date.
Andy Whitworth of NetEnt also shared comments on the link-up and what it will mean for players:
“To widen the reach of our portfolio and building brand awareness in new markets is a vital part of our strategy.
Gaming Realms has an extraordinary reach among Slingo fans, especially in the US. We are certain that great games will come out from combining Gaming Realms expertise, the Slingo grid mechanic and our renowned IP.”
Starburst video slot is still rated number one game across many iGaming categories and is still a title that many players seek out when choosing a new online casino.
