Massachusetts State Lottery Commission Awards Scientific Games New Contract

It has been announced today that the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission has awarded online and offline gaming provider; Scientific Games, with a new contract to provide the provider’s world-beating instant games second chance promotions and digital engagement programs to the Massachusetts Lottery.

The new expanded contract is for a five year period, which will make it five decades of supplying the lottery provider with its suite of instant games, and may be extended by a further two years.

In addition, as part of the contract expansion, Scientific Games will provide the lottery firm with its consumer engagement digital services that are designed to boost engagement through second-chance game features, with the aim of protecting and growing revenues for the Commonwealth.

Senior Vice President of Lottery Instant Products for Scientific Games John Schulz commented on the new contract:

“It goes without saying that the Mass Lottery has been the highest performing instant game lottery in the world for many years and continues to set the bar for lotteries around the globe.

We are extremely proud of the results of this trusted business partnership over the past four decades.

Our 2nd chance and digital services are second to none, and we look forward to further expanding Scientific Games’ services to player engagement in online/mobile channels in Massachusetts.”

The retail and digital gaming provider is currently the primary instant game supplier for the majority of instant games for the Massachusetts Lottery, whereby its products generate around $3 billion in total instant game retail sales each year.

Overall, Scientific Games, a global leader in lottery and casino products, has boosted instant game sales for the Massachusetts Lottery firm by more than ten percent so far in the current fiscal year.

Furthermore, new games available to Massachusetts Lottery customers will be playable via desktop computers and mobile apps, which include integrated digital engagement tools for an enhanced two-way experience. The lottery provider will work closely with the operator on innovative titles such as James Bond Lottery Challenge.

Chief Marketing Officer for Massachusetts State Lottery Commission Ed Farley also shared comments on the deal extension with Scientific Games:
