Just when you thought Evolution, formerly named Evolution Gaming before the rebrand, couldn’t get any bigger, they drop the bombshell announcement that they are proposing a takeover of Australian gaming brand Big Time Gaming, also known as BTG.
Last year, a major news bulletin dropped that Evolution was acquiring NetEnt, one of the world’s leading developer’s of slots games for the last decade, and today the headline broke that the gaming giant, known for its high quality live dealer games, was to be agreeing terms to purchase Big Time Gaming.
Big Time Gaming has been one of the industry’s leading brands within the online gaming community over the last five years due to its revolutionary slot machine mechanic Megaways.
Megaways slots are widely popular in almost every country around the world and the momentum shows no signs of slowing down.
The reason why Megaways slots are so sought after is because the game mechanic provides over one-hundred-thousand ways to win using a random number generator to calculate combinations on each spin of the slot reels.
Evolution, like many in the online gaming industry, has recognised the value of the Megaways slot mechanic and has made moves to secure the deal of Big Time Gaming, which ultimately holds the licenses for all Megaways titles from proprietary and third party games.
The deal is reportedly in the region of €450 million combined shares and cash and will undoubtedly mark the biggest acquisition in online gaming since the gaming giant purchased NetEnt.
Following the takeover of NetEnt and now BTG, Evolution is on course to be the biggest gaming company in 2021 and will hold a huge percentage of the online market share in a number of product verticals, including live dealer casino games and video slots.
Evolution is continuing its aim to supply clients, operators and players alike with an all-round excellent user experience in a number of regulated gaming markets.
The gaming giant is consistently making groundbreaking moves within the industry that is seeing Evolution become one of, if not the biggest gaming companies in the world.
Over the last five years, Evolution has opened a new live casino studio in Romania, launched an array of new live dealer games, acquired Ezugi, NetEnt, Red Tiger and now soon Big Time Gaming.
Some of the biggest and best Megaways slots include Payday, Gimme Gold, Book of Gems, Pirates Plenty, Cops n Robbers, Megaways Mob, Power of Thor and The Dog House among others.
