New Yorkers have access to more online betting opportunities as PointsBet goes live

New Yorkers have today gained access to more online and mobile betting opportunities as leading operator PointsBet goes live.

PointsBet, one of America’s leading online sportsbooks has announced that it has launched its ‘market-leading’ mobile app and digital sports betting product in the The Empire State just days after the recreational activity was legalised.

This news now takes the operator to a total of nine states for its premium sports betting services as the firm looks to continue its strong momentum across states such as New Jersey, Colorado, West Virginia and now New York among others.

With a total population of around 20 million residents, the operator is looking to take a large portion of the market share on offer as it promotes its fastest online sports betting product featuring live betting in-play and in real-time.

PointsBet received a recommendation just three months ago by the New York State Gaming Commission to award the brand with a platform provider license, which in turn paved the way for its sports wagering activities that have gone live today.

New York is one of the newest states in America to legalise online and mobile sportsbook betting after going live this month, following legislative approval back in April 2021.

According to reports, The Empire State is tipped to be one of the largest online betting markets in the country due to the volume of sports fans that follow the likes of New York Nicks, New York Rangers, New York Jets and New York City FC among others.

This news is without a doubt a huge milestone for PointsBet, which is the official sports betting partner of NBC Sports, whereby the sportsbook is able to market its brand and betting products throughout the year across multiple media platforms.

Johnny Aitken of PointsBet commented on the market launch and explained why he is excited about going live in New York:

Launching in New York is a significant milestone for PointsBet, being one of nine approved online sports betting operators in the state.

New York’s passionate sports fans and bettors will now have access to the fastest online sports betting product in market, with a live, in-game betting experience that PointsBet controls through our proprietary technology and world-class team that is unrivalled.

Sam Swanell, also of PointsBet shared comments on going live in The Empire State:

This marks a momentous day for PointsBet in officially launching within the state of New York, poised to be one of the largest markets in the United States.

The PointsBet team is excited to prove our reputation and consistent ability to deliver a world-class experience to New York sports bettors.
