One of the world’s largest and most established software providers to the iGaming industry, Playtech, has today announced a multipronged expansion move in the newly regulated market in North America, Ontario, the province situated in east-central Canada.
The move, involving multiple operator partnerships, resulted in the product verticals, RNG Casino and Live, along with full platform, making their debut in Ontario when the market opened at the beginning of the month.
According to reports, as well as the initial partnerships signed, sealed and delivered by Playtech, the provider is set to announce a further wave of agreements in the near future, following a license award from the Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Additionally, as well as supplying its innovative and unique suite of games to operators in the region, Playtech will look to focus and adhere to regulatory framework set out in the province to minimise gambling problems, such as addiction, along with monitoring risk of individuals.
Playtech is a brand that corporations and individuals are already familiar with, having been established in the country and province under existing technology partnerships via the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
This move marks a significant milestone in a new gambling market that has been highly anticipated for some time and allows millions of casino fans to enjoy top games across a variety of channels and verticals.
Top casino games from Playtech include Quantum Roulette, Premium Blackjack, Age of the Gods King of Olympus, Epic Ape, Age of the Gods, Buffalo Blitz and Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live.
Shimon Akad and Charmaine Hogan of Playtech both commented on the news respectively and shared their views on the newly regulated market entry:
This is a significant market in size and a major milestone for Playtech in North America. We are thrilled to have launched with multiple licensees on day one and we are looking forward to continuing to launch with more of our partners in the coming days.
We also expect Ontario to be at the forefront of responsible gambling, where our technology and ability through artificial intelligence to analyse certain player behaviour will be particularly relevant and important.
As we continue to enhance our efforts on sustainability of the gambling sector in general, we wholeheartedly welcome Ontario’s iGaming market launch. An efficient regulatory framework brings operators and suppliers under local oversight and, as is the case in Ontario, with a strong emphasis on the protection of players from the outset.
At Playtech, artificial intelligence is being used to enable the analyses of player behaviour and flag signs of problematic play early on, and to engage with those players, in-play, and in a personalised way, using automated tools and customised messages.
We offer our technology, tools, as well as experience to all, and although the uptake is with operators, we want to see a more responsible and sustainable entertainment industry in the long run. And we aim to continue engaging, wherever we can, with all interested parties and sharing good practices as well as our research findings.
