Aviva’s Health Insurance To Provide For Porn And Gambling Addict's Therapies

With gambling addiction in the rise in regulated European markets, global insurance company Aviva is reportedly launching a plan that covers therapy for gambling and porn addicts.

The company has already launched a policy for companies to cover workers who need treatment for internet-related disorders, reports daily mail.

Aviva’s health insurance helps those addicted to pornography, gambling, gaming, social media, and online shopping.

Talking to daily mail, Dr. Doug Wright from Aviva said: “Addictions can have a huge impact on an individual’s mental wellbeing, and to there home and working life.

“The internet and smartphone apps are leading to technology-driven addictions such as online gaming and sensation-seeking entertainment, as well as a preoccupation with social media.”

Currently, the policy is available to companies and organizations which employ more than 250 people. Also, children aged 13 and over are covered by their parents’ policy.

The policy provides for face-to-face therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, remote sessions by phone or video link, and in-patient treatment.

Gambling addiction amongst teenagers and children in the UK has risen by almost 400 percent in the past two years.

The UK Gambling Commission has taken several steps to curb underage betting and to tackle the menace of gambling addiction.
