Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor Casino secures permission to serve alcohol until 4 AM. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted 4 to 1 to allow Everett’s Encore Boston Harbor Casino to serve alcoholic beverages until 4:00 AM.
Eileen O’Brien, who voted against, said that according to him the decision to allow the gambling venue to serve alcohol until 4 AM should have been decided after a few months after the operations would take off at the gambling venue. She also reiterated the fact that her stand is the same as it was for MGM Resorts International, which was seeking similar permission.
Wynn Resorts had been pushing to secure permission to allow them to serve alcoholic beverages until 4 AM.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the $2.6 billion casino deal was reportedly underway as both MGM CEO Jim Murren, and Wynn CEO Matt Maddox recently met in Las Vegas after Wynn Resorts was slapped a fine of $35 million by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for concealing the sexual harassment allegations against former Wynn Ceo, Steve Wynn.
However, following the reports of a potential deal, citing stakeholders concerns MGM resorts said that they have no such plan to purchase the Boston Harbor Casino as they are already operating Springfield casino in the state.
