Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor Casino is doing it all to bring more visitors to its newly opened gambling facility in Everett. While the casino has offered free parking, it has now added free bus service and has also discounted ferry travel for all visitors.
Moreover, customers who sign up for Wynn’s Red Card loyalty program will now be able to take free buses to the casino to and from three Massachusetts locations – Millbury, Rockland, and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough –as well as Londonderry, New Hampshire. Seats aren’t guaranteed for travelers taking advantage of the complimentary bus service. Red Card members who want to reserve will need to pay the regular $7 fare.
The casino has sliced its revenue projections amidst several controversies. Now the casino expects to generate $600 million in its first full year of operations down $400 million from the $1 billion targets.
“Due to the incredible success we’ve seen with our free self-parking, we have decided to expand our complementary offerings to our mass transit options as well,” Encore President Brian Gullbrants said in a statement Monday. “We hope this continues to show our patrons how thankful we are to be Greater Boston’s hometown casino.”
Last week at the casino, a video surfaced showing a leak in the ceiling from inside one of the poker rooms at the gambling facility as water poured out of the ceiling onto the tables below.
According to eyewitnesses the ceiling in the poker room suddenly started to leak and the water came pouring down on the table. He also said that it was so bad that the water had risen up to his ankles.
The casino officials did a fast evacuation and shifted the patrons. A spokesperson for the casino confirmed there was a leak in the poker room that has been isolated.
