Encore Boston Harbor Reports $175.8M In Operating Revenue For First Full Quarter of Operation

Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor Casino has posted $175.8 million in operating revenues for the three months to Sept. 30. It was also the first full quarter of operations for the newly opened casino.

Wynn Resorts which owns and operates the Everett casino reported that most of the operating revenue came from the gambling facility which grossed $114.9 million for the third quarter.

While officials did show concern about sluggish slot revenue, CEO Matt Maddox said it was none of his concerns.

“We’re at the beginning of the ramp, we’re not at the end,” Maddox said.

“Each quarter, we’re going to be tweaking our marketing, we’re going to be focusing on growing our database, working on controlling expenses and growing revenues,” he said.

“So I am very excited about the transition that we’ve been through and the future of this company as we move forward into 2020.”

Earlier in the year in July, the casino had grossed $16.7 million in its opening week. The casino began operations from June 23.

In a series of steps to attract more visitors to the facility, the casino now offers free parking, and has recently added free bus service and discounted ferry travel for all visitors.

Moreover, customers who sign up for Wynn’s Red Card loyalty program will now be able to take free buses to the casino to and from three Massachusetts locations – Millbury, Rockland, and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough –as well as Londonderry, New Hampshire. Seats aren’t guaranteed for travelers taking advantage of the complimentary bus service. Red Card members who want to reserve will need to pay the regular $7 fare.
