Major League Baseball and Fanduel have inked a multi-year partnership deal. With the new partnership deal, the online gambling and sports betting operator has now become the official gaming partner of the U.S. professional league.
While this is the first partnership deal between Fanduel and MLB, the company has already inked similar deals with National Basketball Association and its Brooklyn Nets team, as well as the National Hockey League and its New Jersey Devils team.
MLB has previously partnered with MGM Resorts International and DraftKings.
Sports betting operations have been launched in several US states following the US Supreme Court’s order which legalized sports gambling in the country last year.
The latest to launch sports gambling in Iowa. Sports betting began at several Iowa casino this week on Thursday. Including Iowa, port betting operations are now offered in 11 US states.
Moreover, several sporting organizations have struck deals with online gambling and betting operators this week. Recently the NFL struck a deal with Sportradar allowing the swiss company to access the NFL’s official data and sell it to licensed gambling operators in the country.
The deal announced Monday earlier this week, confirms the “exclusive distribution of NFL’s real-time official play-by-play data and NGS data to sports betting operators in the U.S. and internationally where sports betting is legal and regulated.”
