Fresh Troubles For Melbourne’s Crown Casino, Whistleblower Releases Video Footage Of Heaps Of Cash Being Offloaded In Suncity Junket Room

The problems seem to be unending for Melbourne’s Crown Casino. A whistleblower has released footage through the ABC News showing a man unloading hundreds of thousands of dollars in a room that was reportedly reserved for high-roller customers at the gambling facility.

The footage aired by ABC was shot on Crown Casino’s security cameras. The footage shows a man (still not identified) handling piles of cash (Australian dollars) in a special room at the facility which was allotted to junket operator Suncity.

The man can be seen pulling the money out from a freezer shopping bag and exchanging it for high-value casino chips.
Suncity has been famous for flying Chinese high-rollers to Australian casinos. The junket operator had a special arrangement at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.

Apart from the footage, the whistleblower has also alleged that the Crown Casino hosted VIP customers flying in private jets keeping at bay the country’s customs and bringing in huge amounts of cash.

Crown Resorts have categorically denied the allegations of money laundering and their involvement in facilitating fast-track visas for VIP Chinese guests at their gambling facilities.

Rubbishing the claims and the reports of money laundering and ties with Chinese mafias, the company said that they are facing a “deceitful campaign”.

The New South Wales (NSW) Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority is also investigating Melco’s purchase of Crown’s stakes.

Recently, Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced an Aud $1.76 bn deal to purchase a 19.99 percent stake in Australia’s Crown Resorts from billionaire James Packer.
