Gamblers File Lawsuit Against PA SugarHouse Casino

Two gamblers have filed a federal lawsuit against the SugarHouse Casino in Pennsylvania. The gamblers have alleged discrepancies in the gambling facility’s use of shuffling machines and have also questioned the legitimacy of the card decks. The gamblers have reported having lost thousands of dollars.

The duo has claimed that they have lost to the tune of $250,000 over the course of eight months. While Anthony Mattia claims to have lost $147,026, William Vespe says he lost $103,844.

The claimants’ attorney has said that he believes it is fair to question the integrity of thousands of card games played inside the SugarHouse Casino.

SugarHouse Casino was involved in controversy even last summer when it was fined for being lax in ensuring compliance in operations.

Earlier this year in May, SugarHouse casino in Pennsylvania has become the first land-based casino to launch online sports betting in the state.

The SugarHouse Casino is owned and operated by Rush Street Gaming. The casino grossed maximum revenue from online gambling operations in the opening month of legalized igaming in Pennsylvania.

During the soft launch of online sports betting operations, the online sportsbook at the SugarHouse casino received $570k in bets in 72 hours.
