Gambling Operator Announces Temporary And Indefinite Casino Closures

USA – A US gambling operator with establishments in Missouri, Alberta and Colorado among others; Century Casinos, has today announced a series of closures to its properties following the risk level of Covid-19 being upped to high in many states.

The firm’s establishments in Canada, Missouri and West Virginia are being closed on a temporary basis ‘to comply with quarantines issued by governments in each jurisdiction to contain the spread of’ coronavirus.

The announcement comes just days after the company closed a number of its other establishments in Poland and Colorado as compliance measures were implemented in the many jurisdictions.

Less than 24 hours ago, Century Casinos also closed its venue in Bath, England indefinitely while ‘the Company continues to evaluate its options for this property, which could include permanent closure or a sale or other disposition’.

Century Casino is an extra addition to the city’s entertainment options. Set across three floors, the casino features a luxurious cocktail lounge with its own balcony overlooking the newly developed Saw Close and the Theatre Royal.

A message to the public was issued on the casino’s website:

“To our valued guests, The safety and well-being of our employees and guests is our highest priority.  Century Casinos, Inc. temporarily closed Century Casino Bath in Bath, UK as a precautionary measure to avoid mass gatherings in Bath, UK. While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at the property, the company closed Century Casino Bath to the public on Tuesday evening March 17, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to serving you in the future.”

Century Casinos is continuing to monitor the situation regarding coronavirus and is expecting the outbreak to ‘adversely impact the Company at least through the first half of 2020’.
