The next time you visit Wasaga Beach, you could get to spin at a new casino.
In an announcement today, the Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited has proposed to build a new casino on a 7.5-acre plot.
The property is located beside the Beachwood Rd. in the west end of Wasaga Beach. Wasaga Beach is a town in Ontario, Canada. It is a popular tourist destination as the town is situated along the second longest freshwater beach in the world.
Gateway has announced that the new casino will have everything from slot machines to table games. However, the project is yet to be approved by the local government and the paperwork related to the purchase of the property is yet to be completed.
The company indicated that once approved by the local and provincial authorities the development work can start in a few months. Gateway has not shared further details of the proposed plan.
Keith Andrews, Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Gateway Casinos Ontario, said, “We are very pleased to announce that we expect to be soon able to move forward with our plans to build an exciting new casino and entertainment destination in the Town of Wasaga Beach. We look forward to receiving all the necessary provincial and municipal approvals and concluding the land transaction so we can start construction as quickly as possible.”
Nina Bifolchi, Wasaga Beach Mayor, has welcomed the company’s proposal.
