GIG To Operate SkyCity Online Casino From Malta And Offer Services To Customers In New Zealand

Famous gaming software provider company, Gaming Innovation Group (GIG), has struck a long-term deal with New Zealand’s top gambling operator SkyCity Entertainment Group. According to the agreement, GIG will launch an online gaming platform on behalf of SkyCity and will manage it from Malta.

The new platform will be fully automated, and GIG will be managing all technical aspects, including gaming content, front-end development, CRM, compliance, and marketing.

The new online casino will be launched by the third quarter of this year.

In a statement to the press, SkyCity chief executive Graeme Stephens explained: “SkyCity is delighted to be partnering with GiG to establish an online casino offering, based in Europe. Growing and diversifying our earnings is a key component of our group strategic plan and developing an online presence to complement our existing land-based casinos in New Zealand will enable us to offer an enhanced gaming proposition for customers.

“GiG are an exciting and innovative technology company with best-in-class teams, systems, platforms, and products and importantly share our focus on responsible gaming and host responsibility. We look forward to working with Robin and the team as we enter an exciting phase of growth at SkyCity.”

Currently, SkyCity operates four of New Zealand’s six land-based casinos, including SkyCity Auckland, SkyCity Hamilton, SkyCity Queenstown, SkyCity Wharf Casino.

Earlier in May, Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) posted its Q1 financial figures and the company’s year-on-year revenue for the first three months had slipped a significant 13.1 percent.

The revenues for the first quarter fell to €32.4m, which for the same period, the previous year was €37.3m.

Also, New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) had fined the Malta-based gaming services provider company, Gaming Innovation Group (GIG), $25,000, as it allowed a non-resident gambler to place online wagers with a licensed operator in the state.
