Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City’s has begun offering online sports betting just over a week before the Super Bowl.

This Friday casino received the permission from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to begin so called “Soft-Play” testing of equipment and systems for online sports betting.

Hard Rock is planning to do an announcement regarding in person sports betting at the casino, said Casino President Joe Lupo said.

Hard Rock will be the eight of the city’s nine casino to offer sports betting. Caesars do not have it, but it’s customers are served by the sportsbook at its neighbouring sister property, Bally’s.

Sports betting is to offer a fast start in New Jersey, which won U.S.Supreme Court case. And by winning the case it cleared the way for all 50 states to offer such wagering.

More than $1.24 billion has been bet on sporting events in New Jersey since such wagering began in Mid June.
