In its bid to hasten the casino development process, the city of Rockford, which is one of the locations where a new casino would come up, has released a Request for Proposals(RFP), on Wednesday.

The released document details the timeline and what it expects from the potential companies who would be willing to apply for a Rockford casino license.

The timetable for Rockford casino development, as mentioned in the RFP, is as follows:

July 25: Last day for interested parties to submit written questions
August 1: Responses to questions distributed via addendum and on the city’s website
August 16: Request for Proposals responses due by 2 p.m.
Aug. 19-Sept. 13: City follow-up questions to proposers, evaluation
September 16: Evaluation team submits recommendations to City Council
September 23: Public Hearing
By September 30: City Council certifies proposers
Before October 25: Applications filed with Illinois Gaming Board

The Illinois Gaming Board is also set to conduct an impact study, following which it would determine the exact site for the casino.
