Investigation Into Illegal Gambling Charges On Former YG Chief Yang Hyun Suk And Seungri To Conclude

Representatives from the Seoul Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they would be concluding their investigation into charges of illegal gambling against former YG Chief Yang Hyun Suk and Seungri will be over by the end of October.

“The police have finished investigating Yang Hyun Suk and Seungri. They are currently analyzing the results of the investigation results, as well as evidence obtained at the beginning of the case. The investigation will come to a full close by mid-October,” a police representative said to the press.

Earlier in the year in August, Yang Hyun-suk and former Big Bang member Seungri were booked on charges of gambling overseas.

According to the gambling rules in South Korea, it is illegal for people to participate in gambling in the country and even outside the country where it is legal. However, normally if caught gambling overseas it is likely that one gets away with a warning.

Both accused have also been summoned by the police for interrogation. Attending the interrogation the two said that they are cooperating with the authorities.

After the two were booked for overseas gambling charges, a travel ban was issued against them restricting them from leaving the country.

Yang was also booked previously in July, on suspicions of arranging sex services for foreign investors after which he had to resign from his position in the company.
