Kansas Hollywood Casino Posts A 4.3 Percent Year-On-Year Increase In Gaming Revenues For August

Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway has posted a strong performance for August with revenues jumping 4.3 percent year-on-year.

According to the figures released by Kansas Lottery Commission gaming revenues at Hollywood Casino for August increased .3percent year-on-year to $13.1 million. For the same period the previous year, the casino grossed $12.6 million. The August revenue also represented a moderate month-over-month increase.

Keith Kocher, the Kansas Lottery’s director of program assurance and integrity, attributed additional weekend for the increase in revenue at the casino. It should be noted that August 2019 had five weekends.

Casino revenue from all state casinos grew by 3 percent year-on-year in August.

Moreover, as per the figures revealed by the Kansas Lottery, the lottery transferred $74.9 million from lottery ticket sales and $98.7 million from casino gaming revenues to the state during the fiscal year 2019.

It also reported that the lottery ticket sales jumped by 9.79 percent for the fiscal year 2019 when compared to the fiscal year 2018.

In 2019 fiscal, the Hollywood Casino posted revenues of $150.8 million. Of the total funds raised from gaming and lottery, 3 percent, or $4.5 million, went to the Unified Government. Twenty-two percent, or $33.17 million, went to the state of Kansas.

August was great for Sportsbooks in New York as well. The state grossed double revenue from legal sports betting operations.
