The Kindred Group has announced that they will shut down their online Maria Casino brand which is currently running in the UK. The company has said that the online casino will cease operations starting May, 7.
While the real reasons as to why the Malta-based gambling operator has announced to pull their Maria Casino brand is yet to be known, in its official statement, the company has said that they are merely planning to focus on their other two brands in the country.
Kindred Group also operates two other brands – the Unibet and 32Red in the UK.
The company in its statement addressing the existing customers has also asked them to withdraw any balance funds in their account before May 7, after which the brand will be pulled out of the UK markets.
It has also mentioned that the customers will be able to access their accounts and withdraw funds until May 14. However, it has been made clear that no users will be permitted to place wagers or deposit funds after the operations cease from May 7.
After May 7, users will only be able to withdraw balance funds into their accounts.
Also, if you’re a Maria casino customer you would have to use all your Bonuses by 7 May – after that, all available bonuses from customers’ accounts will be forfeited.
Earlier this week, Norway’s gambling regulator Lottsift asked the Kindred Group to wrap up their business and get out of the country.
Three sites, Maria Casino, Grand Piano, and Bingo.com, which are owned and operated by Kindred’s Norway subsidiary Trannel International, were asked to shut shop.
However, Kindred is all set to put up a legal battle against the gambling regulator, alleging that they have no authority to ban Trannel’s operations in the country.
