Kiriopoulos Marched On To A Stunning Victory As WPT Fallsview Comes To An End

Demo Kiriopoulos managed to snatch a stunning victory on the final day of the WPT Fallsview Poker, while Andrew Pantling slipped to the third place despite having a significant chip lead of CAD 5000 WPT on the deciding table. Amidst the jaw-dropping views of the enigmatic and legendary Niagara falls, the final day at WPT Fallsview Poker was fully charged. On the final day, the biggest upset came for Pantling, who in 2016 had finished sixth in the Big One for One Drop. Making his way ahead of the other 602 entrants, only to stay in the race for numero uno, losing a lead of CAD 5,000 WPT can’t be compared to anything less than a bolt from the blue for Pantling.

Kiriopoulos showed Pantling attempts to rush towards claiming the title by showing him a red light when he crushed Pantling as he turned a nine-high straight holding 860. With the chip lead being snitched and snatched by both players in turns without any decisive move, it was Wing Yueng who put an end to Pantlings last hopes of winning by beating him in a flip QJ>AK that left him short. Wing Yeung finished second only after Kiriopoulos.

Later Kiriopoulos claimed a comfortable victory by capitalizing on his lead as he held 16.2m chips, whereas Yeung held 7.8m. He bagged the third title of his career with his tens getting better of J6dd of Yeung. It is also the biggest title Kiriopoulos has ever won making it even more special for him. The victory brought him even more than $312,407 which he had grabbed finishing 6/1954 in 2017 PartyPoker Millions North America. In the same year, he missed the victory slightly at a World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The Final Results At WPT Fallsview Poker
1. Demo Kiriopoulos – $392,059
2. Wing-Yat Yeung – $274,939

5. James Morgan – $97,344
6. Noeung Troeung – $79,689

Others who managed to catch the attention of the poker fans and spectators were the European Poker Tour (EPT) Champion, Ben Wilinofsky (24th), Chanracy Khun (11th), and the four-time WPT Champion, Darren Elias (30th).

A Rivers Double Is Announced Following The Success Of The WPT Event Earlier In October 2018

Inspired by the success of the WPTDeepStacks held at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburg towards the end of 2018 in October, the WPT group has managed to get two more events rolling in 2019. While the first event starts April 18 which will have $1,100 buy-in and $300,000 guaranteed, the WPTDS main event takes place between April 25-28. Quite like the previous year, the next event is also expected to take place in October 2019.
