A 40-year-old woman in Lahad Datu, Sabah, Malaysia allegedly attacked her husband with a metal rod after he asked her to stop online gambling.
As reported in the local press, the 40-year-old woman was trying to access an online gambling site. However, she was moving around the house to get a better network to connect to her favorite gambling site.
Meanwhile, her husband asked her to stop moving and also confronted her over her urge to gamble online. Following which there was an altercation between the two and the woman attacked the husband with a steel rod.
In the scuffle, the husband is reported to have been injured with wounds and bruises on his face and body.
Chief Asst Comm of police of Lahad Datu, Nasri Mansor, confirmed that the woman had been arrested following a complaint filed by her husband.
He also confirmed that the woman was found positive for the use of prohibited drugs. It could be very much possible that she was under the influence of some kind of drugs when she attacked her husband.
Earlier last month, an interfaith coalition has called for a ban on slot machines and mini-casinos in Sabah, Malaysia. Currently, there are 40 clubs which have over 400 slot machines in the region.On multiple occasions, interfaith and religious groups have demonstrated against mini casinos in Sabah.
