Maltese Casino Operator Videoslots Secures Permission To Enter The Italian Gambling Market

Videoslots which is based out of Malta has secured the permissions from Italy’s gambling regulator AAMS to enter the Italian gambling market. With permission from the country’s gambling regulator to tap into the Italian casino gambling market, the operator is looking forward to further expanding its business in regulated European markets.

Videoslots also recently secured a gambling license from the Danish gambling regulator. The casino operator now has licenses from gambling regulators in the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Malta.

The gambling operator’s Denmark facing site features games from top content suppliers including NetEnt, Yggdrasil, Quickspin, and Thunderkick. For the first time, the Danish online casino and gambling enthusiasts will have access to Videoslots’ online slot and table games.

Alexander Stevendahl, CEO at Videoslots.com, said of the new license being awarded: “We’re always challenging ourselves to become bigger and better and this Italian license will open even more doors for us.

“We have already been given the green light to work in a range of important markets within Europe and we can’t wait to start working in Italy, a really exciting regulated market with a lot of potentials.”

In Italy, the government, on the other hand, is taking a tough stand against gambling. According to the reports in the local media, the government plans to increase the tax rate on large lottery jackpots–defined as those over € 100 million–from the current 12% to 23% in 2020 fiscal.

It is also reported that the government will be introducing a new 12 percent tax on gamblers ‘ winnings below € 500. It is this winning that statistically comprises the majority of the punters’ winnings and which is not taxable at present.
