MaxEnt Raises Concerns Over UKGC’s Decision, Says They Are To Stay In The UK Market

In a recent statement, MaxEnt confirmed that they are all set to launch an appeal against the UK Gambling Commission’s decision to revoke its license.

Earlier on June 4, 2019, the gambling commission announced that they would revoke the company’s gaming software license. However, it should be noted that the gambling commission asked the company for clarification and allowed them to appeal until June 18 before making any final decision.

Max Entertainment has made it clear that they are not leaving the UK market and are reasonably confident about their appeal. In response to the findings as cited by the UK gambling commission, MaxEnt issued a statement which reads: “In the Findings, as issued by the Commission, the Commission states that the business is adequately funded both now and for the future and that they are happy with the source of funding. Their concerns all relate to the transition period, which happened prior to the change of management. As part of the appeal, we will seek to have proper regard for the change of management taken.”

“From the statement which we received from UKGC after the Panel it is clear that, were Max Entertainment to apply for a license today, the Commission would grant it.”

Disappointed with the gambling commission’s choice of words, the company in its statement clarifies that “The Commission’s issues with the controller are not connected with the way the business is run or with how customers are treated, but solely with the availability of documentary evidence from two years ago. We feel that the Commission’s decision is not sufficiently objective, hence why we are appealing. We do not intend to leave the UK market at this time.”
