Mohegan Sun, a tribal gambling facility in Uncasville, Connecticut, has ranked number one in USA Today’s list of top 10 U.S. casinos.
Foxwoods Resort Casino, situated in Mashantucket, Conn bagged the second position. While the Mohegan Sun casino was launched in 1996, the Foxwoods Resort Casino started welcoming guests in 1993.
The Mohegan Sun casino gambling venue hosts three hotel towers with a combined 1,563 guestrooms and suites.
Describing the aesthetics of the property, the USA Today reports that Mohegan tribal stories come to life throughout the hotel’s design.’
The venue also has about 300,000 square feet of area, over 5,000 slot machines, 300 table games, and a 33 table poker zone.
The Pechanga Casino in Temecula, California was third on the USA Today list. Wynn Resorts’ newly opened Encore Boston harbor is 5th on the list of top ten casinos.
“Rooms at the Encore Boston Harbor come equipped with flat-screen TVs, high-speed wireless internet access, Wynn Dream Beds with 507-thread-count sheets, spacious marble bathrooms with separate shower and soaking tub, and voice-activated lighting and temperature controls,” reports USA Today.
In its latest financial update, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, which operates the Mohegan Sun casino, reported a 7.5 percent year-on-year drop in its adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter of 2019 to June 30. The company posted an adjusted EBITDA of $81.6 million.
While Mohegan’s net revenues increased slightly by 0.8% to $347.6m from. $344.9m during the same period the previous year, its income from operations fell by 13.6% to $55.2m against $63.9m year-on-year.
