Now Let The City Know Where You Want The New Chicago Casino

The city hall in Chicago posted an open website survey where public opinion is sought about various aspects of the potential Chicago casino.

If you’re in Chicago, now you can voice your opinion about where you want the new Chicago casino to be located and what are your expectations with the city casino. Moreover, the identity of those participating in the survey would not be disclosed.

“We are launching a survey that will give our residents a voice in informing how this development can drive the maximum benefit for all communities,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a statement. “We are committed to a transparent process for ensuring all voices can be heard.”

It’s an 11-page survey, however, nowhere does the survey asks if you want a casino at all. All questions revolve around the whereabouts and whereabouts of the proposed Chicago casino following the massive gambling expansion bill signed by Illinois governor J.B Pritzker.

The survey questions seeking opinion on the location of the casino has options include near or far from downtown, close to public transportation or highways, or in an area that needs economic help. There are other questions like should the casino be designed to maximize the city’s tax revenue or to meet some other goal.

Last week, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot had said that they are considering five different sites for a casino in Chicago.

The Illinois Gaming board has already picked Vegas-based Union Gaming to conduct a feasibility study for a casino in Chicago. Union Gaming has ninety days to present its report to Pritzker, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and lawmakers.
