Palace Casino Resort, general manager Keith Crosby said “We’re thrilled to be able to bring pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We hadn’t gotten to the point where it (betting on horses) was permitted.”
“Players will be able to place bets across two separate windows or two self-service kiosks in the sports book, ” he added.
In his statement to the press, Crosby also said that they have been working on this project for many years now and their goal is to provide the guests at the coast casino a seamless betting experience across all significant U.S race tracks.
United Tote, a Churchill Downs company is facilitating the betting system at the venue and the systems installed have been already field tested.
Horse racing may come to more casinos in the region very soon, but at this point, the Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi is pioneering the horse race betting in the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
