In a massive drug bust at Parx Casino in Bensalem and at another location in Philadelphia, the police have seized 440 grams of raw heroin stuffed in over 40,000 bags for sale.
The police have also confirmed the arrest of six people. Two of those arrested have allegedly been living illegally in the US and are said to be from the Dominican Republic.
The police also obtained two search warrants that were served in Philadelphia as a part of the investigation. The operation was jointly conducted by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, Bensalem Police, the NJSP Crime Suppression Unit, ICE, Philadelphia Police, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s office.
On top of the raw heroin, police have also seized a stolen firearm. While a part of the drug contingent was seized from a vehicle at Parx Casino, the rest was seized from an unconfirmed location in Philadelphia.
Those arrested have been charged with a felony for possession of drugs with intent to sell.
Last month, Parx Casino launched its $10 million sportsbook. The newly developed sports betting area features a 155-feet wide television screen airing games from across various leagues and also a full bar that hosts 40 seats and 150 recliners for visitors.
