Sports betting is arriving to another location after three Pennsylvania casinos launched physical sportsbook late last year. News emerged on last Friday that Parx Casino in Bensalem will soft launch its sports betting facility on Tuesday Jan 8.
The Bensalem Based Casino is Pennsylvania’s Fourth gambling venue to go live with sports betting. Legal Wagering has become possible in the United States after the US Supreme Court struck down last spring a long standing federal ban, a landmark ruling that made it possible for individual states to legalize the practice.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course was Pennsylvania’s first casino to launch in person sports betting in Mid November, making the state the seventh US Jurisdictions to go live with the activity in the post Scotus ruling Era.
According to information from the State Gaming Control Board, Hollywood Casino’s Sportsbook generated revenue of $500,000 on betting handle of $1.41 million in the period between Nov 14-30. The gambling regulator is yet to publish its December report that will contain information about the facility’s first full month of operation as well as about the other sports betting venues to have opened doors.
Parx Casino is planning to roll out the Betslip Bulider Mobile betting app soon. The Casino needs approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control board in order to be able to go live with digital betting.
Parx has also revealed plans to go live with sports betting at its South Philadelphia Turf Club and Valley Forge Turf Club properties.
