Pennsylvania’s Hollywood And Parx Casino casinos Soft-launch Online Gambling

The wait is over, as two Pennsylvania casinos soft-launched online gambling on Monday. The online gambling legislation had already been approved back in 2017; however, it was only on Monday that two land-based casinos in Pennsylvania had a soft-launch of their online gambling operations after getting a green signal from Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).

Penn National Gaming’s Hollywood Casino launched its online gambling platform at about 11 am. Their online gambling site suffered specific issues, and customers were not able to register themselves on the website. As such, Hollywood casinos’ online gambling site was offering limited slots and video poker games.

The Parx Casino in Philadelphia also soft-launched its online gambling site a few hours after Hollywood Casino. Their online portfolio of slot games included blackjack and roulette games.

A third casino, Rush Street Gaming’s SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia is all set to soft-launch their online gambling site on Wednesday.

As a very gambling-friendly state, Pennsylvania now joins Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey in the club of states offering online gambling.

Last week, Pennsylvania casinos lost a lawsuit demanding shut down of slot-style online lottery games in the state. The casinos alleged that online lottery games are very similar to online casino gambling. They fear that it could take a toll on their revenues from online gaming services.

However, the Pennsylvania Lottery maintained that the lottery games are in line with the regulations and guidelines set in 2017.
