As a part of the deal, the new Cronulla Shark Park stadium would be renamed and will be known as PointBet Stadium. The deal also includes printing PointBet’s brand logo and name on the Cronulla Sharks’ jerseys.
For PointBet the new sponsorship deal with Cronulla, National Rugby League (NRL) team, is a strategic investment to promote their brand further.
The Cronulla Shark home ground stadium has a capacity of 22000. Andrew Fahey, Co-founder, and Chief Marketing Officer, of PointsBet, said “We are thrilled to be entering a long-term partnership with the Cronulla Sharks; they have ambitious plans both on and off the field and we look forward to being part of their success. The announcement of PointsBet Stadium is something we are very proud of.”
The general manager of the commercials at Cronulla Sharks, Chris Highett, said, “PointsBet is setting new standards in the sports betting industry in Australia and around the world, and we’re excited they have shown great faith in our club by partnering up with the Sharks on this long-term arrangement.”
PointsBet has replaced Southern Cross Group who could not renew their sponsorship contract for another season.
