Regulator Will Now Apply No More Limits On Junket Numbers In Saipan

The executive director of the Commonwealth Casino Commission from Saipan, Edward Deleon Guerrero, declared that the number of excursion operators allowed to do business in Saipan will not be limited by regulator. A unit of Hong Kong-listed gaming investor Imperial Pacific International Holdings Ltd. has been issued an exclusive casino license by the main island of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marina islands.

Quoted by the Saipan Tribune newspaper, “We’re not going to put a limit on the number of junket operators”, announced Mr. Guerrero on Friday. He stated this during a meeting of the regulator.

The casino operating unit of the Hong Kong-listed company, Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC, began its gaming operations at its Imperial Pacific Resort in the month of July, 2017. It had been operating an interim facility called Best Sunshine Live, earlier. During the meeting, three new junket operators were approved to do business with Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC.

The three junkets that were provided with the provisional license were reported to be identified as Bula Mula LLC, High Tides LLC, and Stellar Paradise LLC, according to the Saipan Tribune.

Anyhow, the three junkets still need to fulfill some requirements to start the operations. “We’re still working with them to get those documents, but they already have the license”, said Mr. Guerrero, “Last week, we did the final junket agreement between Imperial Pacific and them”.

So far, Big Bang entertainment is the only junket operator that has been provided with the provisional license.

However, Mr. Guerrero has been reported to say that the commission was screening four more junket operators, in Friday’s meeting. He added that the regulator would still agree to take other applications.
