South Richmond Virginia Casino Resort Proposals Announced

Virginia, USA – A casino resort proposal has today been announced by the Pamunkey Native American Tribe; Virginia’s first federally recognised tribe.

It is reported that the tribe has purchased multiple parcels of land that total over thirty acres in Manchester, City of Richmond, which the proposals highlight as the location for the new resort.

A spokesperson for the Pamunkey Native American Tribe commented on the announcement:

“Securing the four parcels is a significant investment for the Tribe and represents just a small portion of the total investment that the Tribe plans to make in Richmond… The Resort will have a significant positive economic impact on the City of Richmond and the region. The project is expected to create more than 1,000 construction jobs and 1,500 ongoing full-time jobs”

The figure for the investment is said to be in the region of 315 million Euro. and details of the proposal include a four-diamond hotel tower that overlooks the James River and will contain over 270 hotel rooms.

Robert Gray, Chief of the Pamunkey Indian Tribe since 2015 expressed his delight for the new resort:

“We are very excited about our plans to bring a great resort and casino to Richmond”.

Gray elaborated on the benefits of the resort and the local economy:

“Not only does this help fulfill the government’s intent to use gaming to help us secure our future, but it will also be a great economic boost for the City of Richmond and its citizens”.

The proposed resort is said to also said to include a swimming pool, high end restaurant, fitness facility, sports bar and health and beauty spa.
