Swedish Gambling Regulator Fines Betsson Subsidiary and SkillOnNet

Swedish gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen confirmed that it has fined white label casino operator Skill On Net Ltd. and NGG Nordic Ltd., a subsidiary of online gambling group Betsson.

The gambling regulator found that the gambling operator offered multiple bonuses to Swedish customers which violated the existing gambling regulations.

Sweden’s new online gambling laws, allow licensed gambling operators to offer only one bonus offer to their customers. Those offering multiple bonuses are violating the regulations.

SkillOnNet was fined SEK14 million. The company operates multiple brands in the country, including PlayOJO, VegasWinner, and Mega Casino.

NGG Nordic operates the Nordicbet brand in Sweden was fined SEK19 million by Spelinspektionen for offering incentives to its players.

Betsson has challenged the decision of the gambling regulator. In its statement to the press, the company said that it “does not agree with SGA’s (Swedish Gambling Authority) interpretations and supports NGG Nordic Ltd’s view that their customer offerings have been in line with what is permitted under the new gambling legislation.”
