Swedish gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen has suspended the Ninja Casino and has asked the gambling operator ‘SafeEnt’ which operates the online casino in the country to cease operations of the gambling site with immediate effect.
The decision to cease operations and suspend the license for Ninja Casino came after the gambling regulator found significant deficiencies and drawbacks in the company’s operations. As per the reports, the gambling regulator found that the company was not ensuring the compliance guidelines and was also lax on implementing anti-money-laundering measures.
Penalizing SafeEnt for violating a number of regulations pertaining to consumer protection, the Swedish authority explicitly mentioned that there were violations of ‘duty of care’ procedures and that a number of customers have played beyond ‘their deposit limits’.
Earlier this year, Sweden introduced new gambling laws with stricter compliance measures. The gambling regulator suspended operations citing that SafeEnt, the company operating Ninja Casino has no regard for the country’s new gambling laws and that it had offered several bonuses at more than one occasion. It also said that the casino had resorted to customer profiling and was lax with its KYC procedures.
The company officials have confirmed that the Ninja Casino has ceased operations.
