In the main event of the Triton Poker Series at Landing Casino, in Jeju, South Korea, Timothy Adams, in a splendid display of talent and confidence claimed the first spot ahead of Bryn Kenney who finished second. Timofey Kuznetsov claimed the top spot in HKD 1m No-Limit Hold’em Short-Deck, bagging $1,859,940.
For Adams, this is a significant achievement and even more so as he was amongst the players who were struck by the virus that broke out earlier last week – Adam did very well to recover. Also, this win is Adam’s personal best as he grabbed a whopping $3,536,550 in a single event. With 48 entrants of which 16 were re-entries, 6 made it to the money in the HKD 2m (USD 255,000) buy-in event.
Busting, Justin Bonomo, the Event 1 winner of the Triton Poker series, Adams got on to play on the final table. Brian Kenney, who finished second, opened with pocket kings but called as Isaac Haxton threw 25 blinds with ace-nine. With the first hand held, David Peters then dumped ace-three from the small blind to which Peter Jetten called from the big blind holding a king. It was Jetten’s second time on the final table in the series, and he managed to steal the 4th place this time.
Dan Smith lost to Kenney with Kenney’s A2o getting better of Dan’s K8o. That brought Adam’s to face Kenney who was on a spree. Kenny and Adams have been at odds for over a decade and the two carving an ICM deal with HKD 4m at stake wasn’t unexpected. In the final hand, Adams crushed Kenney as his 85o annihilated Kenney’s A4o.
