Tron, a blockchain-based decentralized application (DApp) platform has extended its support to the Japanese authorities to crack down on the gambling DApps in the Japanese market.
Citing compliance with local laws as TRON’s business policy, the company said in an open release that they would restrict Japan-based users on gambling-related decentralized applications on its platform.
The announcement also mentions that the company regards the local laws and as gambling is prohibited and punishable by law in Japan, they will work towards ensuring that Japan-based users do not get access to gambling DApps on their network.
“TRON has been striving to promote blockchain technology and diversify DAPPs on its platform while adhering to local laws and regulations across the globe,” the statement reads.
To curb gambling DApps that accept Japan-based users, TRON has urged Japanese developers to abstain from creating and hosting a gambling DApp on their platform.
The release also requests all other developers working with Gambling DApps to restrict access from Japanese users and IP addresses.
In their release, Tron has also promised that they will work in collaboration with the Japanese government and “provide necessary support if any TRON DApps violate Japanese laws and regulations.”.
The statement published by the Tron Foundation also said that “TRON has been striving to promote blockchain technology and diversify DAPPs on its platform while adhering to local laws and regulations across the globe.”
Last month Japanese government had restricted gambling advertisements to immigration areas only to ensure that locals are not exposed to gambling ads.
