Two of New York’s Casinos are all set to launch sports betting. While Tioga Downs In Nichols will launch sports betting tomorrow, July 17, Rivers casino launched sports betting today, July 16.
The two casinos have already got the necessary permissions from the New York Gaming Commission and will be accepting wagers in person. Mobile sports betting is yet to be regulated in New York.
Rivers casino offers a dedicated sports betting lounge and hosts 16 separate kiosks to facilitate betting in-person.
Talking about the launch of sports betting operations Rivers Casino & Resort general manager Justin Moore said: “WE COULDN’T BE HAPPIER TO START CONSTRUCTION ON OUR NEW SPORTSBOOK AND WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO OPENING ONE OF THE FIRST LICENSED SPORTSBOOKS IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK AT RIVERS CASINO & RESORT SCHENECTADY.”
Tioga Downs, which will start sports betting from tomorrow, has partnered with FanDuelfor its sports betting operations.
Though Mobile sports betting was a given a green signal back in January when the New York State Gaming Commission allowed four privately held casinos in the state to offer mobile sports betting, it is not included in the Budget has not been regulated.
Earlier in June, Rivers Casino announced a dedicated sports betting manager and had said that they would organize special training for employees and update them with the new sports gambling regulations.
