With tightening regulations in the domestic market, many UK-based online gambling companies and bookmakers are eyeing the expanding sports betting market in the US and other regulated European markets.
William Hill, one of the top British bookmakers, has now partnered with a Native American Tribe to launch sports betting operations at a casino resort in New Mexico.
The bookmaker has announced to launch a sportsbook in partnership with Mescalero Apache Tribe at the Inn of the Mountain Gods casino resort.
It would also be the first sportsbook by William Hills in New Mexico. Also, the bookmaker’s partnership with the Mescalero Apache Tribe is its first partnership with a Native American Tribe outside Nevada.
David Grolman, president of retail for William Hill US, said: “Working with the Mescalero Apache Tribe and the National Indian Gaming Commission on this partnership agreement was important to us.
“Inn of the Mountain Gods is one of the premier resorts and casinos in the South West and together we plan to bring a first-class experience to sports fans in the region.”
While the partnership has already been officially announced the sportsbook would be launched before the start of the coming American football season. The facility will host multiple screens to facilitate punters with betting.
