UK-based sports bookmaker William Hill is all set to launch its first tribal sportsbook outside Nevada on Thursday as the company is eyeing US expansion amidst stringent regulatory actions in the domestic market.
The bookmaker will be launching its sportsbook at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino in Mescalero, New Mexico. The sportsbook is scheduled to launch precisely on Thursday, July 25, at 6 pm local time followed by an opening ceremony.
The gambling venue is owned and operated by the Mescalero Apache Tribe. The tribe announced its partnership with William hill earlier in June this year.
According to the agreement, the casino will offer sports betting using William Hill’s wagering and risk management technology into its day-to-day operations as well as the sports gambling operator’s kiosks and in-play menu.
The sports betting facility added to the gambling venue would feature 12 43-inch television screens that will air sporting events and display odds.
The new sports betting facility at the Inn of the Mountain Gods would be the third operational sportsbook in New Mexico.
William Hill has been facing a decline in revenue from domestic retail betting operations in the UK. The bookmaker recently announced that it would be shutting 700 betting shops in the Uk putting 4,500 jobs at risk as it sees profits plummeting after the new stake reduction policy on FOBT’s came into effect earlier this year.
