James Adduci had placed a wager of $85,000 on Tiger Woods to win the Augusta Masters title in April. Against all the odds, Woods who hadn’t won a Masters title since the PGA tour in 2018, got better of his competitors and grabbed the Augusta Masters.
Adducci made $1.2 million, wagering $85,000 at 14-1 odd, grabbing one of the biggest wins on a single golf ticket at William Hills.
Now the gambler is betting $100,000 at odds of 100-1 on Woods grabbing the grand slam.
If that happens, Adducci will win a whopping $8 million, gambling on golf. For Adducci to win the bet, Tiger woods would have to win the USPGA Championship coming up next week, US Open in June and July’s Open.
Adducci has wagered with William Hill at a Las Vegas Casino. This ticket is also the biggest liability on a single golf ticket in the history of William Hill.
Currently, Tiger Woods is the favorite to win the next week’s USPGA Championship with 8-1 odds.
After William Hill had to pay $1.2 million for Adducci’s $85,000 ticket, Nick Bogdanovich, William Hill US director of trading, had said, “It’s great to see Tiger back. It’s a painful day for William Hill — our biggest golf loss ever — but a great day for Golf.”
Woods is still making a comeback after staying away from Golf for quite some time. He had been surrounded by controversies and suffered injuries. He faced a divorce case, was involved with substance abuse and also associated with sex scandals.
