Robert DeSalvio, President Of Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor Casino is stepping down just five months after the casino began operations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Wynn Resorts which owns and operates the Encore Boston Harbor Casino resort confirmed the departure of Robert DeSalvio. He had been working on the project for nearly five years.
Outgoing, DeSalvio’s position will be taken by Brian Gullbrants. Gulbrants has been the former leader of hotel, food and beverage operations at Encore.
“Bob DeSalvio’s ability to partner with community leaders and elected officials, assemble a world-class team and lead them to produce and launch a project of the highest quality is remarkable,” Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox said in a statement provided by the company.
Encore Boston Harbor Casino started accepting guests from June 23. The casino grossed $16.7 million in its opening week. It paid $4.1 million to the state in tax revenue for the revenues generated between June 23 and June 30.
The casino has generated $166.8 million in revenue so far. September was the first month when the revenues at the gambling facility took a hit as they dropped $3.53 million when compared to August.
The casino has been embroiled in controversies since its opening. A class-action lawsuit was filed against the casino claiming the gambling facility is cheating customers of their winnings.
