Yang Hyun-suk To Be Summoned Again For Covering Up K-Pop Star BI’s Drug Abuse

It’s all going downhill for the former Y.G Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk. Already charged for gambling overseas, Yang has been summoned by the police over both gambling and pimping charges.

Now his former accomplice, K-Pop Star BI (real name Kim Han-bin) has admitted drug abuse, the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency confirmed on Wednesday.

The pop-star was questioned for about 14 hours after he was summoned for using prohibited drugs.

The police have also said that some of the suspect’s statements were not coherent, as such, they will further investigate the matter. They also have plans to refer the case to the prosecution.

According to confirmed reports, the police will also summon Yang Hyun-suk, the former YG Entertainment chief as he is accused of covering up the drug abuse by Kim in 2016.

Kim’s acquaintance who had earlier said she was asked by Kim to procure marijuana reversed her statement during the probe. However, earlier this year, in June, she confessed that she was pressurized and coerced by former YG Entertainment head Yang-Hyun-suk.

Last month, Yang and Seungri were booked for gambling overseas. The duo allegedly has been involved in gambling in hotel-casinos in Las Vegas and violating South Korea’s gambling rules.

According to the gambling rules in South Korea, it is illegal for people to participate in gambling in the country and even outside the country where it is legal. However, normally if caught gambling overseas it is likely that one gets away with a warning.
